If you are potty training toddler age children or a toddler age child, there are some helpful tips that can help. The toddler age is roughly defined between 18 and 36 months of age, which is also the average age for potty training. If you ask around to moms and dads you may find that boys are reported as harder to train than girls, who may train on the early side of the spectrum. Why this is the case is not completely known. The most important thing is to make sure your child is ready, regardless of their age.

Some children will actually go a bit over the 36 month age. The best way to prevent stress, as mentioned before, is not to pressure or force your child to potty train before they are ready. Once they are ready, implementing a potty schedule when you place them on the potty (perhaps with a favourite  book) can help them develop a routine over time, they will get into the habit of going to the potty every few hours or as needed.
